Remembering Animation Pioneer Chuck Jones

Chuck Jones The Dot and the Line Academy Award Presentation Display with Original Production Background
Today marks the birthday of Chuck Jones (1912 - 2002), animator best known for his Warner Bros. Cartoons,  Tom and Jerry shorts, Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, and The Dot and the Line. Our Collector's Treasure of the Day is The Dot and the Line Academy Award Presentation Display with Original Production Background. Directed by Chuck Jones and Maurice Noble, and produced by Jones for MGM, the ten-minute short was the winner of the Academy Award for Animated Short Film for 1965. This is an actual production background used in this film, in a 23 x 24 inch framed set-up with a recreated hand-painted cel of the line placed on the background for presentation purposes. A special Academy Award presentation matting showcases an image of Jones receiving his Oscar, as well as an image of the nomination certificate for the short. A unique and one of a kind set-up, accompanied by a letter of authenticity. In Excellent condition. From the Chuck Jones Family Collection. Authenticity guaranteed for life by Collector's Shangri-La.
