Collector's Shangri-La Launches Low-Cost Appraisal and Authentication Service

For many years collectors, investors, and dealers around the world have turned to Collector's Shangri-La for appraisals, grading, and authentication. The proprietor of Collector's Shangri-La, Kevin Segall, has over 25 years experience working with signed photographs, rare books, comics, fine art, manuscripts, and pop culture memorabilia.

As a service to our customers, we are now offering a low-cost appraisal, grading, and authentication service for purposes that include:

  • Selling of Collections

  • Charitable Donation

  • Estate Planning and Taxes

  • Financial Planning

  • Insurance

  • We provide a formal letter of appraisal with a "retail replacement cost" for insurance purposes, a "fair market value" for tax purposes, and a "dealer cost" (the amount one would expect a dealer to pay for an item). We also provide a certificate with an opinion of authenticity for an item that passes detailed examination.

We charge a low flat fee of only $15.95 per item, or $13.95 each for 10 or more items. If you've "shopped around" you'll notice that most companies charge $20 to $50 and up for this service, but we feel that ours is a much more reasonable fee. Additional discounts are available for larger collections.
