Today marks the birthday of former child star and U.S. Ambassador Shirley Temple Black (1928-2014), best known for her roles in such films as Heidi (1937), A Little Princess (1939), and The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer (1947). Charles Gates Sheldon (1889 - 1960) is an artist best known for his pin-ups, Hollywood, and fashion drawings for magazines from about 1900 to the 1930s. He was one of the highest paid illustrators of his time and studied under the famed Art Nouveau artist Alphonse Mucha in Paris. Collector's Shangri-La is proud to feature several newly acquired Sheldon originals including work from the Estate of Charles Martignette, collector, historian, and author of The Great American Pin-Up.
