Today marks the birthday of TV pioneer Ernie Kovacs (1919 - 1962), the first performer to grasp the medium's possibilities. His uninhibited genius was let loose to experiment on the hilarious Ernie Kovacs Show from the early 1950s until his untimely death in 1962. Collector's Shangri-La has put together our acquisitions from the Ernie Kovacs/Edie Adams Estate to create the ultimate personal keepsake in a unique limited edition. Each of these Limited Edition Sets contains 20 records from his personal record collection plus one of Mr. Kovacs' worn bow ties and shirt collars. Today marks the birthday of comic artist Wally Wood (1927-1981), best known for his work on EC Comics's MAD and Marvel's Daredevil. Our Collector's Treasure of the Day is a page of original art written by TV pioneer Ernie Kovacs (1919 - 1962) and drawn by Wood. The two teamed up for a series of Ripley's Believe It Or Not! parodies, beginning with MAD Magazine #33. This wild page is from the next-to-last issue to feature them, and has Wood drawing on textured bristol. Ernie Kovacs Audio Trove Acquired

Omnivore Recordings has announced it will release all audio material from the archive of the estates of legendary comedian Ernie Kovacs and Tony-Award winning singer/entertainer Edie Adams. The first album to be released is titled Percy Dovetonsils Thpeaks, a previously unreleased comedy album featuring Kovacs’ best-known and beloved character originally recorded in 1961.

Music featured prominently in Kovacs' show, and Collector's Shangri-La still has available a few limited edition sets that include records from the personal collection of Ernie Kovacs!
