Original Contract for Hitchcock's Vertigo

Our Collector's Treasure of the Day is this original 1957 contract for James Stewart (1908-1997) to star in the Alfred Hitchcock classic thriller Vertigo (1998), signed and initialed multiple times by actor James Stewart, screenwriter Samuel A. Taylor for Alfred J. Hitchcock Productions, and the representatives from Paramount Pictures. Tentatively titled "From Amongst the Dead", many consider Vertigo to be Hitchcock's masterpiece. 8 x 11 inches. 13 page contract for film performance, personal appearances, radio, etc. with 2 page addendum. Also included is an additional 2 page contract in which Paramount lends Stewart to Hitchcock Productions. Fine condition. Authenticity guaranteed for life by Collector's Shangri-La.

Farewell to Groundbreaking Comedienne Joan Rivers

Farewell to Joan Rivers (1933-2014), who passed away yesterday from complications after a medical procedure on her vocal cords. Rivers was best known for her stand-up comedy, as the co-host of Fashion Police, her appearances on The Tonight Show, and her own Emmy-winning talk show The Joan Rivers Show. Our Collector's Treasure of the Day is this hand-signed First Edition of her mystery novel Murder at the Academy Awards. Also signed by co-author Jerrilyn Farmer. Our Collector's Treasure of the day is this moody Haunted House masterpiece by Luis Dominguez, likely painted for one of Western Publishing's many mystery-horror titles. Dominguez is an Argentine artist, who is best known for his American horror books of the 1960s and 1970s. Measuring an overall 15.5 x 22 inches, and painted on illustration board, the art is in Excellent condition. Provenance Russ Cochran Publishing.
