Today marks the birthday of Carl Barks (1901 - 2000), the Disney Studio illustrator and comic book creator who invented Duckburg and many of its inhabitants, such as Scrooge McDuck, the Beagle Boys, and Gyro Gearloose. Our Collector's Treasure of the Day is this set of
two limited edition art prints of cartoons drawn by Carl Barks before he joined the Walt Disney Studio in 1935. Both are numbered "114/120" and signed in full by Carl Barks below the image. The set was published by Another Rainbow for the International Museum of Cartoon Art. Included are the Museum's numbered Certificate of Authenticity and envelope in which the set was distributed. On the back of each print is a label that states: "this drawing, submitted to Disney's in 1935 helped get me hired. Carl Barks." Blue and black ink on two 10.5 x 14inch heavyweight paper sheets. In Fine condition. Authenticity guaranteed for life by Collector's Shangri-La.
