Happy birthday to author T. S. Eliot (1888-1965), best known for such works as
The Waste Land (1922),
Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats (1939), and
Four Quartets (1936-1942). He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1948, "for his outstanding, pioneer contribution to present-day poetry." Our Collector's Treasure of the Day is this edition of
Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats hand-signed by illustrator Edward Gorey. Eliot’s famous collection of nonsense verse about cats served as the inspiration for the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical Cats. Authenticity guaranteed for life by Collector's Shangri-La.
